I’ve been working really hard on client designs, that sometimes I start to feel foggy. My brain gets on overload and I start to think too much about the designs I am coming up with, instead of just letting it flow naturally. When this starts to happen the best thing for me to do is come up with a nursery design completely for fun. No direction, no client, just a super fun expression of creativity. Tonight I did just that…and it only took 15 minutes. I wouldn’t have minded having this modern nursery for my daughter…it screams my style. Super modern, eclectic, bright and just plain fun. The kilim rug is still a dream of mine…one day I’ll have one, mark my words. And who doesn’t just love a thriving fiddle leaf fig? At the moment, the one I have is struggling, I’m bound and determined not to kill it. I’ve been drooling over these felt lettered Castle prints for awhile, they are just so fun and full of humor and spunk. I thought this particular print was kind of funny for a nursery, “Where the fun stuff happens” i.e. no sleep, poopy diapers, you get the idea.(ha) I’ve thrown in a few other items that I think are just super different and unexpected. It may not scream baby in any way, but I think it would be a fun room to grow in.
