love the unexpected in a room.  A design element that I get drawn to and continue to see, is the introduction of an animal print rug in kids rooms.  Whether it be zebra, leopard, or just the shape, it adds a really fun feel to the space.  It can take even the most neutral palette and give it some “oomph.”  Here are some great examples of how an animal print rug can spice up a space.
