A place where design, fun finds and family collide

Keeping it real

So, for those of you that blog…how hard is it for you to come up with something to talk about everyday?  Do you have a system down?  I am realizing quickly that my system isn’t working for me.  I have days of complete creativity block.  Like right now!  I have a brain full of design ideas, but that can get really old for you readers just seeing design board after design board.  I also fear that I will just create the copy cat effect and with providing the design and the sources, others will just do their room off of that, without hiring me.  I wouldn’t blame them for that either.  So, what do you all suggest?  Please share how you come up with fun things to talk about each day.

All I can think about are the striped curtains I am about to attempt…soon.  I have the supplies: the white curtains, the black fabric for the stripes, the liquid stitch…now I just need the gusto.  I have pinned almost all the tutorials out there (k, not really all of them).

I have decided the easiest route to go is the non-sewing one.  Cause who am I kidding, I can’t sew a perfectly straight line for over 70″.  Can you?

Here is my inspiration…from The Yellow Cap Cod.  I love this blog.  She is beyond creative and truly gives me the courage that I can do it.  Thanks Sarah!

And the room that I just love, that I always look back to is from The Nester

I love how light and bright the room is with the blue accents.  Of course the curtains got me too.

So, happy Thursday everyone, we are off to sit on the Easter Bunny’s lap…well, not me, my kiddos.  I’ll have to share the picture later, cause I’m sure it will be a great one.  I have the screamers!

The striped curtains are so fun! It is hard to keep coming up with original content and the copy cat effect is alive and well for sure. I just have realized that if they aren't copying a design I put out there, they will copy someone else's. It's just the reality of the world we live in with blogs, pinterest, etc. I don't have an answer for you, because I think most all of us experience times where there is a ton to blog about and times were you just can't pull it together. Keep at it, you are doing a great job so far!
