Alright, it’s Wowza Wednesday and with this holiday month officially here, I have had many… How to choose just one? I finally decided that because I did a redo decorating session on my tree, that I had to use that as my Wowza.
Let me explain the above statement…I started to decorate my fake tree with the decorations that I have used in the years past and in that moment decided…I didn’t like those decorations anymore. What to do? Drive to my local Michael’s and do some shopping. I brought my 4 1/2 year old son with me (mistake) so my quick shopping experience turned into almost a 2 hour shopping trip. I came home with a few bags full of decor and started sprucing up my tree. Once I finished, I stepped back for the hundredth time and just stood there….what is the problem? Why am I not liking this? Am I being too critical? Who knows, but I didn’t like it and knew it would be changing in the days to follow.
So….for my Wowza. I finally was able to step back from my tree and smile last night, even without it being fully done. That’s an accomplishment…
Behold….Burlap! OK, the behold was a little dramatic, but hey, what can I say. This simple, super cheap material changed my sad little holiday tree. Have you ever thought of finding fabric and cutting it into strips to wrap around your tree as ribbon? If you are like me, you haven’t. Well, I might have just opened up your possibilities for designing your tree this year. All I did was buy a yard and a half of ivory burlap (which is so pretty, compared to the natural color) and cut it into 2 1/2 inch strips. Gently placed them around my tree and my tree is on its way to being so “purdy.”
I hope this Wowza inspires a few of you…think outside the box of ribbon and find some amazing fabric to grace your tree this year. =)
Now, for a Wowza that was shared with me that I just love… and I can’t wait to see the finished product. It was shared with me with that knowledge that it was taking longer then expected, but was coming out just how she wanted. She also isn’t one to normally tackle such a craft project, but, like myself, was inspired by Pinterest. There is something so pretty about ruffles under a holiday tree! Love it…thank you for sharing.
Have you had any Wowzas today?
Share them with me…
