A place where design, fun finds and family collide

Splurge vs. thrifty {metal barstools}

I love a good splurge vs. thrifty, and today’s is too fun!  Who doesn’t just love a good Tolix bar stool?  I was just talking about them with a client the other day for her kitchen.  I’ve always loved the simple lines and the gunmetal finish.  You can also find these stools in a fun array of colors.  First here are some inspiration rooms that I just love.

You can also find similar smaller versions to use in a kids room as an end table, or perfect size seating in a playroom.

But now for the splurge vs. thrifty that spurred this post.  I was doing my usual social media cruising when I came upon this:
Nothing too different about this image you may be thinking…oh, but just you wait!  These beauties not only come in metal, but they come in copper, navy, green and yellow.
And here is the kicker…they are only $99 for the set of two!!!!  Amazing deal, amazing!  Got to love trusty Target
You can find other versions of the Tolix stool at places like Design within Reach where they are $300.
Or one from Sundance for $195
And so many other places sell them as well.  Each will have a slight variation on design, size and finishes…and definitely on the price tag.  For those of you working on a budget…I’m thinking this thrifty find through Target is a great discovery.
So…splurge vs. thrifty, what’s your way?
